WATCH : China putting up mall-sized building on West Philippine Sea

MANILA, Philippines- China’s aggressive activities in the West Philippine Sea( Scarborough) are a violation of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), Malacañang said yesterday.

“We will continue to air our disappointment over this indisputable proof of blatant disregard of what was agreed with China,” Defense spokesperson Peter Paul Galvez told reporters on Thursday at Camp Aguinaldo.

“Ang linaw-linaw dun, they are also signatories there, walang babaguhin from that period (2000). We have kept our part in that,” Galvez said.

He said he has seen photographs of mall-like structures being built in Burgos (Gaven) and Calderon (Cuarteron) Reefs located within the Philippines’ 200-nautical mile exclusive economic zone.
