After winning as the grand champion in The Voice Kids Philippines, 10-year old Lyca Gairanod is yet to take another giant leap in her career as she was given a once-in-a-lifetime chance to sing in the upcoming Pope Francis’ meeting with families on Friday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

In the interview, Gairanod also took the time to express her sentiments on being chosen to sing for the Pope. According to her, she was always looking forward to meet the Pope and, if given the chance, would like to take a selfie with His Holiness.
"Masaya po ako noong sinabi sa akin na ako ang kakanta. Sabi ko, 'Hay, salamat! Naging totoo na 'yung wish ko na makapunta kay Pope Francis,'" Gairanod stated.
However, Gairanod admittedly said in an interview that she was having a hard time speaking in English. Despite of this she is still eager to perform the song. In fact, she is currently taking private English classes to master and perfect her diction of the lyrics.
On the other hand, the main focus of the His Holiness’ exclusive meeting with the poor families is to discuss certain issues such as poverty, families who have members working abroad and people caring for disabled persons. Gairanod, who is also known to come from a poor family in Tanza, Cavite said that she would like to ask the Pope a little thing.
"Sana po bigyan niya po ng blessing a pamilya ko para malayo sila sa sakit," said Gairanod, wishing for prayers for her family’s good health.

Gairanod will conquer the stage with the song “Tell the World of His Love” composed by Tricia Belamide. It was also the same theme song in the 1995 World Youth Day that Pope Saint John Paul ll administered when he was in Manila.
She already performed a part of the song in her interview with ABS-CBN’s reporter MJ Felipe witnessed by almost 5 million people who attended the youth festival’s culminating mass at Luneta
