A Bahaman ship Bulk Jupiter with 19 Filipino crew members sank off the coast of southern Vietnam with only one man known to have survived, officials said on Sunday.

Gearbulk said the vessel left Kuantan in Malaysia at 8 p.m. local time on December 30, carrying 19 Filipino crew members and loaded with 46,400 metric tons of Bauxite in bulk.
''Repeated attempts to contact the vessel on all communication channels were unsuccessful,'' Gearbulk said.
The search and rescue operation, led by Singapre MRCC, continues and is being stepped up,'' it said.
