Finally! A Filipino
character is joining Tekken 7!
Filipino gamers may
want to consider playing the newest character of the popular arcade fighting
game Tekken. In its latest installment, Tekken 7, Josie Rizal was added on the
list, with Devil Jin and Jin Kazama rejoining the game.
Josie Rizal is the
first Pinay character in the Tekken series who specializes in Filipino martial
arts and kickboxing as tweeted by Katsuhiro Harada of Bandai Namco Games.
He admitted in
another tweet that he knew that the character's name was based on the
Philippines' national hero, Jose Rizal.
As of writing, Josie
is dominating the trending topics in the Philippines and worldwide.
However, on the demo
video released, Josie Rizal doesn't seem to speak in Filipino and a lot were
hoping that she would speak in her native language.
