VIRAL: Pinay Disney Star Visits A Filipino Child Who Fights Cancer

You can never relate to one person’s fight in life unless you’ve witnessed it yourself. Example of that is the case of the Filipina Disney Star Anna Maria Perez de Tagle who had a cousin who battled a cancer as well that is why she decided to help a three-year-old kid fighting neuroblastoma.

Neuroblastoma, according to www.mayoclinic.org, “is a cancer that develops from immature nerve cells found in several areas of the body. Neuroblastoma most commonly arises in and around the adrenal glands, which have similar origins to nerve cells and sit atop the kidneys. However, neuroblastoma can also develop in other areas of the abdomen and in the chest, neck and near the spine, where groups of nerve cells exist.

Neuroblastoma most commonly affects children age 5 or younger, though it may rarely occur in older children.”

Hearing stories such as this is saddening especially for a Filipino child whose name is RJ Sy, who in the age of three, already fights in a war as big as this. He was diagnosed with a stage 4 high-risk neuroblastoma.

The tumor has already spread throughout RJ’s lymph nodes and other body parts and the Mayo clinic wasn’t sure on what caused the genetic mutation that developed into cancer.

RJ’s Mom, Cheely Ann Sy, was of course truly hurt for what his son is suffering. According to her, RJ’s only three and he doesn’t deserve it.

Meanwhile, Marisse Panlilio, the one who designs shirt to raise fund for RJ requested her niece, Anna Maria to visit the child which eventually took place at Ronald McDonald House in Manhattan to try to comfort the pain that RJ’s enduring. She brought gifts for the kid.

A lot of online measures are being done to raise support for RJ’s condition. The shirts which are being designed by Ms. Panlilio are being sold at www.mptradingpost.com . On the other hand, Facebook pages and Fundly raise money for the child.
