VIRAL: Freed Inmate in Cebu Prefers To Stay In Jail

A 39-year old man named Timoteo Lucernas of San Francisco, Camotes, Cebu City preferred to stay behind bars after he was acquitted of his rape charges by the Cebu Provincial and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC) but not to be an inmate but to be as the prison’s job order employee, and an all-around maintenance man with his purpose of helping his former fellow inmates on the said prison jail. In the early 2000, Lucernas, go back into the country form the Middle East to be an appliance technician after his contract had been expired. But everything went into a nightmare when he was accused raping his neighbour and was detained in 2005. He spends 10 years in jail but the most difficult part of this was his family seldom visited him because of the distance from their hometown to the jail. Lucenas also stated that his personal problems was not only the difficulties in the jail because of the wrongdoings of some of his fellow students but he also revealed that the past administration of the jail. As a free man after 10 years of spending life in jail, Lucenas thanked all of the prison officers who had treated him well and fairly. He also proves that everyone deserves a second chance.
